About Helen & Douglas House
As the world’s first children’s hospice, we have learnt over the years about how hard it can be to talk to children about the big lessons in life. This is why we’ve created The Courageous Caterpillar; to share some of our knowledge to help your family have fun and to learn more about the world.
The world’s first children’s hospice
Helen & Douglas House provides specialist hospice care for babies and children living with life-shortening and terminal conditions, and support for their families. We help parents, siblings and grandparents cope with the many challenges and complications of looking after a child who will die prematurely.
All proceeds from your subscription to The Courageous Caterpillar will go to Helen & Douglas House and help fund the care and support our children and families rely on. So, your monthly donation will be making a positive impact on your child, as well as helping the many children and families who we support.
We’re a comforting cocoon filled with laughter and a peaceful place where families can create happy memories in their last days, weeks, months or years together.
“COVID-19 has shown the importance of emotional resilience – helping our children cope with lots of different challenges in life. The Courageous Caterpillar has got some lovely resources to help you to help your children in a fun way.”
